Emmy Awards 2023 Postponed, Possibly Into 2024, Amid Actors & Writers Strikes
The nominees for the 2023 Emmy Awards will be waiting a while to find out if they are winners.
The 75th Primetime Emmys ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on September 18, but now the event is being postponed amid the Actors Strike and the Writers Strike.
If the Emmys kept its air date and the strikes were still going on, no celebrities would be in attendance as actors and writers are not allowed to promote their past, current, or future projects as of this time.
So, what’s happening now?
Variety reports that a new date has not yet been set for the Emmys and that official word has not yet been provided by the Television Academy, but vendors for the event have been informed the September 18 plans have been canceled.
“With that date now less than two months away, vendors, producers and others involved with the event needed to start being informed now that their services will need to be pushed,” the outlet reported.
Variety reports that Fox is “aiming to air the show in January 2024,” but the Television Academy is still hoping to air the event in November 2023.
