Nelly Furtado Teases Her Return To Music: ‘I’m In It For The Right Reasons Now’

Nelly Furtado is opening up about her big return to music.

The 44-year-old singer just recently teamed up with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland for “Keep Going Up”, and in a new interview with Billboard is opening up about how releasing her own album soon is hitting different now.

While talking to the outlet, Nelly revealed how she felt it was the right time for her to get back into the music game.

“It’s been so fun. I’m just like, more grateful than ever. I’m, I’m super grateful,” she shared. “I feel like the place I’m at right now is kind of like the same place I was at when I was like, I would say 20, and I first signed a record deal.”

Nelly went on, saying that she had “spent all my time obsessing over music, listening to music, and making music and collaborating with friends who make music and family” then, and is right there again.

“I’m in it for the craft, I’m in it for for the right reasons,” she explained. “And I just, it’s so pure for me right now. It’s just pure inspiration. Like, all day.”

Nelly dropped a first listen to her new music back in June.
