Demi Lovato Gives ‘Masked Singer’ Surprise – Here’s Why She Was Unmasked on Night One
Demi Lovato was the first person unmasked on season 10 of The Masked Singer, but there’s an explanation behind her early elimination on the show.
The 31-year-old singer is arguably one of the most successful musical artist of the current generation of music who has appeared on the show, but sadly it was just for one episode.
Demi competed as Anonymouse on the season 10 premiere, which marked a celebration of the Fox show’s ten seasons.
The episode featured just one special mystery guest instead of introducing viewers to a bunch of new contestants. It has been explained that Demi is not an official contestant this season and was just a mystery guest for the premiere special.
“When I found out that The Masked Singer needed a mystery guest to celebrate their milestone 10th season, I knew I was the right rodent for the job,” Demi said in her clues package. “I started working young. But my big break came when I was able to showcase my voice. When my future was looking bright on the outside, I struggled with demons on the inside. The more I pushed, the more I felt myself slipping away. I was trapped on a path of wrong decisions. And eventually, I hit rock bottom. But that was the wakeup call I needed to finally realize, I had so much more life to live. Now, I’ve made it my mission to seek out joy wherever I can. And that’s exactly what I’m doing here. It’s about time I stop by. You all have been guessing me for the past nine seasons! But when this mask comes off, you’ll see, there’s no mouse like me.”
Some clues in the video package included references to Demi‘s Disney Channel career, her hometown of Texas, and her movie Princess Protection Program.
