Istana Negara announces official titles of Malaysia’s new King, Queen

PUTRAJAYA: Istana Negara has announced the official title for the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and his consort Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah.

In a statement, the King’s senior private secretary Datuk Nazim Mohd Alim said the official title for Sultan Ibrahim will be His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim King of Malaysia while his wife Raja Zarith Sofiah will be Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah Queen of Malaysia.

He said the official title had been updated as of Jan 31.

Earlier, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim arrived at the federal capital to take the oath of office as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara on Wednesday (Jan 31).

The private plane carrying His Majesty from the Senai International Airport landed at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Air Base in Subang, near here, at around 9.40am.
