Kelantan Sultan says Russian ex-wife’s baby not his, ‘could be any Asian man’s son’

Malaysia’s Kelantan Sultan Muhammad V’s Russian ex-wife, Rihana Oksana Veovodina, recently revealed what her five-month-old son looks like.

The baby, named Ismail Leon, had his face previously obscured in pictures.

Could be the son of “any Asian man”

The release of the baby’s photos could be to confirm the baby’s paternity, owing to the family resemblance with Muhammad V.

The monarch, however, has hit back at such claims.

A palace source told Daily Mail that he believes Ismail Leon could be “the son of any Asian man”, and that Muhammad V “does not feel (the baby) looks like him”.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old Oksana has insisted the baby is his, saying the baby was conceived while the couple were on honeymoon in Australia following their secret Islamic ceremony in Kelantan in June 2018.

She has started court proceedings to declare the Sultan the baby’s father, and has also offered a DNA test to prove the baby’s paternity.

Ismail Leon “looks every bit like his father”, she said.

Shortly after the baby was born on May 21, 2019, the Sultan divorced Oksana using the triple talaq method — the harshest and irreversible type of Islamic procedure in June 2019.

Sultan wants to have children with another woman he loves

Daily Mail further reported, citing another palace source, that Oksana is “an ex-wife who was never acknowledged by the palace”.

The 50-year-old Muhammad V now “wants to focus on working hard and helping people in his state to continue his father’s legacy and creating his own happy family”, the source continued.

He intends to “have an heir and children with the woman he loves”, the report said.

It is not known if he is in a new relationship since his divorce.

The Kelantan palace has previously issued a rare statement to counter social media posts written by Oksana, saying that the Kelantan ruler “expresses his regret over the personal choices made in his private life that has caused confusion among Malaysians”.
