Chinese Director Zhang Jizhong, 72, Gets Teary-Eyed During 42-Year-Old Wife’s Prenatal Check-Up

Filmmaker-producer Zhang Jizhong became a butt of jokes when he announced he’s becoming a father again at the age of 72.

Thankfully, the Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber director and his 42-year-old wife Du Xinglin couldn’t care less about the online jibes.

In a bid to share their joy with the world, the couple posted a lengthy video on Douyin about a prenatal checkup recently.

At one point, Jizhong can be seen getting teary-eyed as he hears the heartbeat of his unborn child.

In the video, Xinglin also shared that the baby is healthy, and their other kids are looking forward to meeting their new sibling soon.

Towards the end of the clip, Xinglin also reminded all expectant mums to be careful with their medications and to avoid environments that will affect their physical and mental health.

Jizhong and Xinglin had everyone talking about their 31-year age gap when they got married in 2017.

That aside, the couple share two kids together, a five-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter.

Jizhong is also a dad to eight-year-old Martin, who often appears in family pictures.

The director is also the father of Sarah Zhang, the CEO of Chinese media company, Mandala Film & Television, who is daughter from his first marriage.
