Yann Demange Exits Marvel’s ‘Blade,’ Studio Searches for Third Director
Marvel will be searching for a director to replace Yann Demange at the helm of their forthcoming movie, Blade.
On Wednesday (June 12), The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Yann had exited the project under “amicable” terms.
He is now the second director to depart the project. Previously, Bassam Tariq exited the movie two months before it was supposed to enter production in late 2022.
The outlet noted that Mahershala Ali is still set to play the titular character. The movie is expected to debut on November 7, 2025.
There is not a rush to find a new director. However, it does not yet appear that the release date will be changing.
Blade was announced as a project back in 2019, and Mahershala has been attached since then. Actress Mia Goth joined the cast in April 2023.
The has still not entered production and was delayed by the writers strike and then the actors strike in 2023. Eric Pearson is said to be working on a new draft of the script.
