Mentally unsound man nabbed for mum’s murder
JEMPOL: A man has been arrested for the alleged murder of his 63-year-old mother.
Jempol police chief Supt Hoo Chang Hook said preliminary investigations have revealed that the 33-year-old suspect, who was the victim’s oldest child, was mentally unwell.
“We received a call around noon today about an argument between a mother and her son which led to the mother’s death.
“When my men arrived at their house, they found the deceased sprawled in the front yard,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (June 25).
He said police would apply for an order to remand the suspect from the Magistrate’s court in Bahau on Wednesday (June 26).
He said a post-mortem would be carried out.
