Cyndi Wang, 41, Really Doesn’t Want Netizens To Think She Needs Reading Glasses

A sign of old age is when you need prescription glasses to read, and Taiwanese pop singer Cyndi Wang, 41, wants you to know she doesn’t require those just yet.

Recently, a netizen took to Threads to share that they had bumped into the singer at the Tainan Airport.

“Can’t believe I actually met Cyndi Wang at the airport while I was on a work trip! She looked really busy so I didn’t dare to go up and ask for a photo,” wrote the netizen.

They also added that it’s their first time seeing Cyndi in person and that the star was “very skinny, very fair and very hot” in real life.

In the photo they shared, Cyndi was seated and looking through some documents. She also had her glasses on.

The post got to Cyndi, who actually left this comment: “It’s one of those rare times I’m wearing spectacles and I got caught [on camera]. You don’t think I’m wearing reading glasses right?”

Netizens were tickled by how conscious Cyndi was about her glasses. Or was it about her age?

“Just admit those are glasses for your lao hua! We won’t laugh at you,” joked one such netizen. ‘Lao hua’ is the Chinese term for presbyopia.

They were also some very kind fans who knew how to butter the star up.

“She’s only 18 years old why would she need lao hua glasses!” joked one such fan.
