RIIZE Plummet On Brand Reputation Ranking List

For years, the Korea Brand Reputation Research Institute released monthly brand reputation rankings for Korean celebrities across different categories, including boy/girl groups as a whole and their members. The lists are said to reflect which K-Pop groups and idols are the most popular at the given time based on data collected, determining how much they’re discussed online and how much they’re “worth” regarding advertising.
For example, the list below shows the top five girl groups for the tracking period from 10/9-11/9, 2024 with BLACKPINK as the top group.

Depending on their activities, groups will rise and fall on the lists, but groups with ongoing promotions and advertisements will usually stay near the top.
RIIZE are one group that, throughout 2024, have mostly remained in higher-up spots on the chart.

This continued into the ranking from 9/9 to 10/9, when the group was ranked 11th on the chart.

On November 9, the latest brand reputation list was published, and RIIZE’s unanticipated change was revealed. The group was no longer listed in the top ten, and while this sort of fluctuation could be entirely expected, their new placement raised eyebrows.
RIIZE came in at 35 on this latest list, dropping over 20 spots.

Many were surprised to see RIIZE, who released their repackage album RIIZING in early September and were announced brand ambassadors for National Geographic in late August, make such a sharp decline.

Fans have connected the drop in ranking to the boycotting efforts of those requesting Seunghan’s return to the group.
