Girl Group Member’s Alleged Affair With Married CEO Triggers Extreme Consequences For The Members And The Label

The outcomes of this affair have been drastic.

Recently, an entertainment agency CEO was caught having an extramarital affair with a member of a girl group signed under his company, sparking a significant scandal.

The group in question is IHOTEU, a three-member ensemble under EFG Music, a subsidiary of JDB Entertainment. A recent TenAsia exclusive report exposed that JDB’s CEO was cheating on his wife with IHTOEU’s Mina.

After the controversy erupted, the official social media channels of IHOTEU announced that Mina had decided to depart from the group. The other two members, Negi and Amu, are set to continue their group activities.

However, the group’s social media accounts made a follow-up announcement shortly after, stating that all members of the group had decided to terminate their contracts with EFG Music, citing their “respective artistic direction and emotional wellbeing.” Labeling Mina’s departure as her “graduation” from the group, the statement mentioned that she left the group after coming to a mutual agreement with the company and that any further negotiation with her on the matter would be difficult.

In addition, the company noted that the current CEO was unable to get directly involved in these decisions. So, the internal staff worked on implementing the necessary measures. Given the current situation, the company also decided to halt all EFG Music activities temporarily. The future direction of the organization, including its very existence, will be decided after internal reviews and legal consultation.

Despite the contract termination and the pause on EFG Music’s operations, Negi and Amuro are confirmed to fulfill all previously scheduled live performances and other activities of IHOTEU. The agency will continue to support them in these activities within the agreed scope and alignment of their wishes.

IHOTEU, which debuted on June 10, 2024, with the single album The First Wave, has built a good reputation, especially for its strong focus on live stage performances. The group members were the first artists signed under EFG Music, a label launched by JDB Entertainments, the company behind well-known comedians such as Kim Jun Ho and Kim Dae Hee.

As the remaining two members continue with their live performances amid the significant turmoil, fans are left anxious and wondering about the future of this once-promising lineup.
