A fan’s experience at the meet and greet event with IVE at the recent KCON USA has sparked heated discourse online.

The fan in question posted a video on social media with the caption, “Just waving goodbye to my $110 for 6 seconds with IVE at KCON USA.” The clip showed an astonishingly brief encounter between the fan and the group. Unlike traditional meet-and-greets, fans didn’t even get a single moment of one-on-one interaction with the members, and had to simply walk past their table as all of them stood in a line, waving in their direction.

The video quickly went viral, having raked up over 370,000 views on Instagram alone at the time of writing. Netizens tore into KCON USA for even organizing such a meet-and-greet, that too at a hefty price of 110 USD. Many also criticized the event for its worsening quality, allegedly since 2019.

The viral video has sparked a bigger discussion about the alarmingly rising prices of K-Pop events overseas, with many wondering if any of these experiences are worth it anymore.
