Over 200 Global Sumud Flotilla participants believed detained, says SNCC
SEPANG: A total of 201 of the 497 Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) participants are believed to have been detained by the Israeli military.
This includes 12 Malaysians who were volunteers on GSF ships bound for Gaza.
Sumud Nusantara Command Centre director-general Datuk Dr Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby said that as of 10.44am Malaysian time on Thursday (Oct 2), 14 flotilla vessels had been intercepted.
He said these include Sirius, Alma, Huga, Grande Blu and Hio, which were carrying seven Malaysian men and five women.
He said Adara, Spectre, Deir Yassin Mali, Yulara, Aurora, Otaria, Morgana, Seulle and Mohammad Bhar were also intercepted.
At this point, the list of detained Malaysians on the different vessels is as follows;
Hio:

Grande Blu:
1. Norfarahin Romli (Farah Lee)
2. Danish Nazram Murad
Huga:
Nur Fazelah Mad Tahil (Zizi Kirana)
Sirius:
1. Haikal Abdullah
2. Muaz Zainal
3. Zulfadhli Khairudin
4. Rusydi Ramli
Alma:
1. Iylia Balqis
2. Musa Nuwayri
3. Sul Aidil
GSF is a 44-vessel mission carrying humanitarian supplies and international activists to assist the people of Gaza.
The mission left Spain last month, aiming to break Israel’s blockade of the Palestinian territory, where the United Nations says famine has set in.
