TSR Positive Images: One of your favorite celebrity couples is giving back, Roomies! Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are donating a year’s worth of food to an East Tennessee elementary school, Fox news reports.

The power couple decided to give back to Jacksboro Elementary School after a viral Facebook post from a teacher at the school caught the attention. Brooke Goins took to Facebook to write about how she and a group of teachers got together and paid for food for one hungry student.

“Today I cried at work. Not because I hate my job, or that it is just too hard,” Brooke writes. “Today I cried for a child, a child who so innocently talked about food and the lack of it.”

After being approached by a student who expressed he had been going hungry during lunch, and some times during dinner at home, Brooke and her fellow teachers decided to start a food pantry for their students. Thats when JLo and ARod stepped in!

JLo posted a video the donation being made on Wednesday, and the kids were more than moved by the donation!

“We were so touched. We were smoked…Oh my God. We were crying,” JLo said in the video. “You know my mom was a teacher, and it was such a moving story to us that we wanted to help.”

JLo and Arod donated the food from Tiller & Hatch, a company they have ownership in.

“This is why being a business owner, and having actual ownership in companies is so important to me and Alex, especially as Latinos.” JLo writes. “It’s about showing our community, this is what life can be. You can take charge and take ownership.”

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez speak of how grateful they are to have had the opportunity to gives back, and to be in business with people who believe in doing the same.

“We are happy to be in business with partners who also believe no child should ever go to sleep hungry. Everyone should have access to delicious, nutritious food.”
