Gillian Chung Celebrates One-Year of Marriage

Last December, Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼) and Taiwanese doctor Michael Lai (賴弘國) held their wedding ceremony in Hong Kong. In their one year of marriage, there were often rumors of marital problems and potential infidelity, but the couple remained strong and even appeared on the show Everybody Stand By <演員請就位>. Despite their outward compatibility, Gillian reveals that her husband loves to start a fight.

Interviewed by Ming Dao (明道) in the show, Gillian discussed life after marriage. She jokingly responded that she and her husband love to sass each other and start petty fights. However, she feels she is at a disadvantage because they usually communicate in Mandarin but her first language is Cantonese, so it hinders her arguments. Though they fight, they never let the situation prolong.

“Every time we fight, I never win because we argue in Mandarin. However, my Mandarin did improve a lot,” Gillian smiled.
