Godfrey Gao Had Plans To Promote Penang As An Ambassador

As if the passing of the Godfrey Gao wasn’t enough… It turns out that the Louis Vuitton model wanted to be a tourist ambassador for his mother’s hometown, Penang, before his untimely death.

For those that don’t know, Gao’s parents came from two different background with his father being Taiwanese, while his mother is a Malaysian from George Town. He was born in Taiwan but move to Canada during his childhood years before returning to Taiwan to pursue modelling.

According to Guang Ming Daily, the “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” star would return to Malaysia often. This allowed him to meet up with his friends and relatives as well as celebrate Chinese New Year together with his family.

It is said that the “Min & Max” star wanted to promote Penang and its food via a short film. However, the 35-year-old’s collapse on the Chinese reality show “Chase Me” has put a stop on those plans. His death is being mourn by many, which you can find in our previous article here.
