JTBC “News Room” Presenter Son Suk Hee Resigns Following False Reports On BTS

JTBC CEO Son Suk Hee (손석희) will no longer be the anchor for the news programme “News Room”.

Though no details were revealed on the shocking announcement, many have speculated that the decision was made in the wake of the recent controversy on the false reports surrounding K-pop sensation BTS (방탄소년단).

A representative from the local cable network revealed on Monday (23rd December) in a statement that reads:

“JTBC’s News Room will be going through a large scale generational change starting January 6th. Weekly show ‘News Room’ reporter Seo Bok Hyun, and announcer Ahn Na Kyun will be leading the show, and Son Suk hee, who has led the main news for 6 years and 4 months will be stepping down from his position and only taking the role of JTBC’s president.”

The daily evening TV news show has previously claimed that all 7 members of the group were considering of taking legal actions against home label, Big Hit Entertainment. In response, the entertainment agency has released a lengthy statement to deny all the reports.
