BREAKING: YDP Agong Appoints Tun M As Interim Prime Minister After Accepting His Resignation
While speculation has been rife as to who will take the place of interim Prime Minister after the seat was left vacant in the wake of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s resignation, a startling decision has been made by our YDP Agong, as Astro Awani reports.
Contrary to belief that the caretaker government will be led by someone from within PKR, with many speculating that it could very well be Datuk Seri Wan Azizah herself, our King has officially made a decision on the matter to end all speculation.
After accepting Tun Mahathir’s resignation, YDP Agong has also appointed Tun Mahathir as Malaysia’s interim Prime Minister in accordance to Article 43 (2)(a) of the Federal Constitution, which states that the appointment of the Prime Minister is a discretionary function of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Yes, Tun Mahathir resigned as Prime Minister, but now he’s Prime Minister again.
However, it is currently unclear as to what members the caretaker government will consist of, as the Attorney General’s Chambers has yet to release a statement on the matter.
