Chinese Influencer Abby Wu Started Getting Plastic Surgery at 14

Staying competitive in the lucrative influencer market is harder than it looks. Take Chinese social media influencer Abby Wu (吳曉辰) for example, who revealed the extreme measures she took to look picture-perfect. The 30-year-old started getting plastic surgery at the age of 14, and has become addicted to it. She has spent 4 million Chinese yuan on over 100 plastic surgery procedures.

Dreaming to be a celebrity since she was a young girl, Abby was unfortunately diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that required her to take steroid hormones. Because of her medication, Abby gained immense weight and was taken to doctors for liposuction surgery by her mother. With this first surgery to remove the excess fat from her legs being the gateway to her plastic surgery lifestyle, Abby expressed that she came out of liposuction a changed person. By the time she turned 16 years old, she had already done a nose enhancement, breast augmentation, and double eyelid surgery.

Revisiting her plastic surgery clinic over a hundred times in the last 16 years, Abby successfully became the clinic’s most famous spokesperson. Releasing her before and after photos to the public, Abby already possessed an attractive face as a young girl, but the enhancements are notable. Trying her best to stay beautiful and perfect, Abby is willing to change anything that she is slightly unhappy with.

Browsing through Abby’s Weibo account, which has over 500,000 followers, the glossy photos feature her Barbie-doll face and long legs in a narrow and standardized view of beauty. But Abby has not regrets about her plastic surgery lifestyle, “I’m more beautiful than the young girls out there, and I live a lot happier. I want to become their idols, and I’ll continue doing my best.”

While Abby openly endorses plastic surgery, she warns young girls that these surgeries could still be dangerous and hopes that unlike herself, they would not get their first procedure at such a young age.
