He Jiong Praised for Bowing Down While Hosting to Give the Spotlight to Reality Show Contestants
A simple gesture can always go a long way. That’s exactly what happened in Hunan TV’s 618 event held last night 湖南卫视618晚会. Famous television host He Jiong (Happy Camp) was widely praised by audiences for doing a slight squat while walking in front of the boys from the reality show Exercise Youth (lit.) 运动吧少年.
So what’s the big deal? For a veteran host with a successful career of over 20 years to do this is a humbling gesture and incredibly considerate since he wanted to make sure that he wasn’t blocking the boys so that they’d be seen on TV. The funny thing about it was that the cameramen didn’t understand He Jiong’s intention. They ended up focusing on him only, instead of actually filming the faces of the contestants.
