Addicted’s Breakout Star Timmy Xu Talks About Hitting Career Rock Bottom in the Past

These days Timmy Xu Weizhou seems to be busily racking up acting projects under his belt, with no less than four dramas in the works while also pursuing a lucrative singing career on the side. The multi-hyphenate Chinese star broke out of obscurity through the web series Addicted and has since seen a meteoric rise in his popularity as an actor slash singer slash model following his debut.  For anyone aspiring to a have slice of the entertainment industry, Timmy Xu sounds like a good pattern card to hold themselves up against, but who knew that the year following his almost overnight success also saw him at the lowest point in his career when he had trouble booking any projects?
Yup, that right. In a recent interview with Zhang Dada, the actor reveals that after becoming an almost overnight sensation, offers from various magazines and TV dramas immediately flooded in, making him feel like “he’s made it”. Opportunities to make money too were cropping up here and there. However, in the same year, things quickly came crashing down when his career suddenly stagnated and he was not longer considered a “hot” commodity. For almost a year or so, offers dried up and he had no work and almost no income to support himself, making it the hardest year ever for him.
Looking back now, the actor-singer-model said that music became his saving grace at his very lowest. And although he chose acting as his major, music has always been his hobby. Timmy said he’ll always be grateful for that experience because it taught him that life can’t always be smooth sailing, nor can we always stand at the top. Like it or not, life is defined by ups and downs and it’s up to your own mindset how you’ll take it.

First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head before writing.
I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes
are lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?
    Kudos!
