310 People Slapped With RM1k Fine Each After Partying At Mutiara Damansara Club
Yesterday morning (Sunday, 26th July), 310 individuals were caught partying at a club in Jalan PJU 7/3 Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
As a result, the 110 women and 200 men – 10 of which were foreigners – were slapped with RM1,000 compound each after the venue was raided by police.
“10 officers and 19 personnel from the district headquarters raided three premises in Mutiara Damansara on suspicion that RMCO (Recovery Movement Control Order) standard operating procedure were flouted last night,” District police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal was quoted as saying.
He continued, “At the time, there were 200 men and 110 women, aged between 20 to 30 who breached the RMCO SOP at the club. Each of them was fined RM1,000, as stated in the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988. The foreigners aged 25 to 30 without work permits are being investigated under Section 39b of the Immigration Act 1959.”
Although entertainment businesses like cinemas and karaoke halls have been allowed to reopen since 15th July, clubs, bars and pubs have not been given the green light yet. Due to the increase rate of people’s negligence, Nik Ezanee shared that “PJ police has decided to increase its surveillance and take sterner against public who don’t follow SOPs“.
In addition to the seizure of electronic devices such as microphone, amplifier, turntable and approximately RM9,000 cash, yesterday’s compound was the highest compound in a day.
