Dicky Cheung Finally Reunites with His Wife Jess Zhang After 531 Days

Most people say that long distance relationships never work out but that isn’t the case for the 56-year-old Hong Kong actor-singer Dicky Cheung and his wife, Chinese actress Jess Zhang Qian. The two finally saw each other again after being apart for more than a year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The couple are actually no stranger to a long-distance relationship. Having met in 1997 and married in 2004, Dicky who lives in Hong Kong and Jess who lives in Beijing would make it a point to see each other once every month.

After filming The Learning Curve of a Warlord in 2017, Dicky hasn’t taken on a new project. In recent years, he has put his career aside to care for his 81-year-old mother whose health hasn’t been the best since almost drowning in a hotel pool back in 2013. Dicky who is very much a filial son would often share updates on social media about his mom. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he stayed in Hong Kong with his mother and couldn’t travel to see his wife. And of course he wouldn’t want to leave his elderly mother for too long.

On March 10, Dicky shared some pleasant news to his fans on Weibo: “A person is spending 21 days of quarantine in Guangdong to meet a person whom he has not seen in 515 days is, so worth it!” On March 26, he posted: “A pair of comfortable sneakers took me on a comfortable road home, holding hands with the person that I haven’t seen for 531 days, I am full of happiness, it’s like embracing the pure and flawless Xinjiang cotton! Clapping for ourselves!”

These lovebirds never let distance fade the love between them, giving us major relationship goals!
