Owen Cheung and Brian Chu’s Risky Weight Loss Methods

Owen Cheung and Brian Chu’s Risky Weight Loss Methods

Dropping extra pounds help actors look more chiseled on camera. In the latest episode of More than Mall <雙祥見>hosts Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) and Louis Yuen (阮兆祥) discuss their weight loss stories and the extreme methods they have seen some actors use.

To prepare for Death By Zero <殺手> and The Ringmaster <拳王> where he has shirtless action scenes, Wayne had to lose a significant amount of weight while training his muscles. Making a strategic meal plan to reduce calories in his diet, his meals mostly consisted of eggs, chicken, and vegetables.

However, Wayne’s costars Owen Cheung (張振朗) and Brian Chu (朱敏瀚) resorted to more extreme methods to achieve dramatic results during the filming of The Ringmaster, Seven days before filming, they would drink at least nine liters of water and then decrease the amount in hopes of clearing any sodium or impurities in their bodies. Then two days before filming, they would stop drinking water completely so that their bodies would absorb all the excess water, which helps muscles look more defined.

Hearing this, Louis felt Owen and Brian’s methods were unhealthy and risky. He suggested that weight loss can be achieved by eating only vegetables, which helped him lose 20 pounds in one month.

Amazing! This blog looks just like my old one! It’s on a totally
different topic but it has pretty much the same layout
and design. Great choice of colors!
