Zhang Jianing Celebrates Birthday with Her Boss Wang Kai

Zhang Jianing (张佳宁) celebrated her 32nd birthday on May 26 with a school-themed karaoke party and among the attendees were actors Wang Kai and good friend Cheney Chen Xuedong. She’s acted alongside both before, however, her relationship with Wang Kai is not only that of colleagues but also boss and employee. Wang Kai officially left Daylight Entertainment in 2017 after the company abolished its management arm. Wang Kai established Deshe Yingshi (得舍影视) in 2019 with Zhang Jianing as one of its first artists.

Zhang Jianing and Wang Kai both graduated from the Central Academy of Drama. In fact, Zhang Jianing’s uncle, actor Zhang Xiaolong, used to be Wang Kai’s professor. In the photos that Zhang Jianing shared on social media, she was also with her colleagues from Deshe and wrote the caption, “Good years, thankful for the companionship.”

Ye Zuxin who is not in the photos was said to also be in attendance. Ever since being spotted with Zhang Jianing in 2017, their dating status has been an open secret in c-ent. Ye Zuxin most recently starred in Wang Kai’s Serenade of Peaceful Joy. Wang Kai was also present when Zhang Jianing celebrated her birthday with rumored boyfriend Ye Zuxin last year.
