Kris Wu Denies All Allegations: “No Luring, No Date Rape, No Underaged, If There Was, I’ll Send Myself to Jail”

[UPDATED] Following Du Meizhu’s explosive interview against Kris Wu, Du Meizhu took to social media with a lengthy post on the even of July 18 challenging Kris to man up, apologize, announce his withdrawal from the Chinese entertainment industry in 24 hours and leave China or she will release more information. Du Meizhu’s previous accusations of him deceiving underaged girls has turned into accusations of rape and sexual assault. It has since sparked a public outcry causing some brands to terminate their partnerships with the singer-actor. Other girls that have been linked to him in the past have also drawn attention while more girls like SNH48 member Zhang Dansan have come forward to share her story by including alleged screenshots of convos with Kris Wu when he approached her and asked to meet up at a hotel though she says she’s glad that nothing happened.

Kris Wu: “I Only Met Ms. Du Once.. There’s None of the Various Details She Described”

At around 8am on July 19, Kris Wu breaks his silence for the first time to deny all allegations. He writes, “I didn’t respond before because I didn’t want to interfere with the progress of the judicial process, but I didn’t expect that my silence would condone the rumor makers to push things to an extreme. I cannot tolerate this any longer! I only met Ms. Du once at a friend’s gathering on December 5, 2020. There was no forcing of alcohol, no confiscation of her mobile phone and none of the various “details” she described. There were many people at the gathering that day, and they will testify! I’m sorry to disturb everyone. I affirm that there has never been any “choosing of concubines (girls)”! There is no “seduction” or “date rape”! There is no “underaged”! If there is such behavior, please rest assured, I will go to jail by myself! ! I am legally responsible for all of the words I’ve said above!”

His studio also plastered the word “Fake” on Du Meizhu’s weibo posts and the two interviews that she has recently given along with the caption, “Reject all defamatory remarks and dissemination of harmful information online. Do not use sensitive issues to maliciously incite public sentiment! We have initiated the legal process and finished filing a case. We believe that the fairness of the law will surely restore the truth!”

Kris Wu Studio Has Filed a Case with the Police

Kris Wu studio also issued a statement saying that Du*zhu has been using her posts or accepting interviews as a means to fabricate rumors about Mr. Wu Yifan while reaching out to the studio to ask for compensation in exchange for the deletion of her posts and related information. Hence, the studio states: “1. Beginning July 8, 2021, Du*zhu has continued to share posts, accept interviews and blatantly create false rumors about Mr. Wu Yifan that has trended many times and resulted in severely negative comments against Mr. Wu Yifan which have escalated to cyberbullying. On July 16 and July 17, Du*zhu falsified the WeChat and Weibo Accounts of our studio and falsified chat conversations that were disseminated to the internet through video to maliciously lead the public to believe that Mr. Wu Yifan has committed illegal acts.

Our studio clarifies that we’ve never registered a WeChat account and have never used a Weibo account using the studio’s name. The chat conversations Du*zhu shared online are fake. Our studio strongly condemns Du*zhu’s fabrication of false information online, malicious instigation and acts of creating rumors and defamation! Giving a notice to related media not to disseminate unverified, one-sided false information to go with the tide! Requesting related internet platforms to take responsibility and delete false information! 2. Regarding Du*zhu’s suspected illegal actions, our studio has filed a case with the police at first instance. As of now, the police has accepted the case and is in the process of investigating in accordance with the law.
