Just when we thought that Wang Leehom’s divorce saga has come to a close, netizens claiming to be part of the singer’s staff have stepped forward to defend the disgraced star.
The netizen, who chose to remain anonymous, shared that Leehom intends to take a “three to five year hiatus” because of the scandal. While the 45-year-old was indeed “playful” before marriage, the netizen said that Leehom changed completely after he married Lee Jinglei.
“He puts his career first — even before his family and love — and his reputation is very important to him,” the source continued. “That’s why he couldn’t have done the things [that his ex-wife accused him of] after getting hitched”.
The netizen shared that Jinglei’s warning that she would expose evidence of Leehom’s philandering ways was an empty threat as he was never unfaithful.
Yumi apparently texted Leehom for a work-related favour
The netizen also cleared the air about Yumi Bai being Leehom’s rumoured “sex partner”.
Jinglei claimed that Yumi and Leehom kept in touch after his marriage and were friends with benefits, and had shared a screenshot of Yumi messaging the singer even though he insisted that they were no longer in touch.
But there’s apparently more to the story.
Rather than the scandalous exchange that one might assume they had, Yumi’s message to Leehom in 2015 was about work. And the saucy WhatsApp profile pic is apparently not even hers.
This claim was corroborated by Yumi’s friend, ‘Being A Child 007’ on Weibo, who shared the rest of conversation from the screenshot Jinglei had offered as evidence.
Apparently, Yumi had messaged Leehom to ask him to record a video to promote BY2’s seventh album, which was to be played at a Beijing press event.
The netizen then said: “The court will award Jinglei with more assets if she has any evidence of Leehom cheating, but she hasn’t submitted any. Is it because she doesn’t want to give it to them? No, it’s because she doesn’t have any.”
Will this start another of war of words between Jinglei and Leehom?
Another netizen added that Leehom was advised to go on live stream to address Jinglei’s accusations but he decided against it because he feels that “she is a very extreme person with some psychological issues”.
This netizen also said that Leehom felt that she had already destroyed him and if he were to continue dragging her through the mud and destroy her reputation too in the process, “she might do something extreme with the kids such as jumping off a building with them.”
Leehom and Jinglei have three children together: daughters Jiali, seven, Jiana, five, and son Jiayao, three.
