Maksim Chmerkovskiy has returned to Europe.

Weeks after he was finally able to return home to Los Angeles after being stuck in Ukraine after Russia’s invasion, the 42-year-old Dancing with the Stars alum has returned to Eastern Europe amid the ongoing war.

Maks took to Instagram on Sunday (March 20) to reveal that he is currently in Poland helping with the refugee relief efforts as people are fleeing out of Ukraine and heading to safety.

“It didn’t not end, or slow down, it got worse in Ukraine and I want everyone to understand what that means because everything that happened, happened fast and it was traumatic and it was worldwide and everything,” Maks shared in a video. “But right now, it is getting worse. Humanitarian crisis is getting worse.”

“People are getting hurt worse, there are more people hurt, and there are more people effected,” Maks added, before encouraging people to help out in any way that they can.

In a recent interview, Maks opened up about escaping Ukraine, revealing that he feels “survivor’s remorse” since making it back to the United States from the country he was born in.
