Taiwan Artist Li Yaping Cried While Sharing About Daughter’s Cancer & Husband’s Stroke
If you’re superstitious, you’ll know there are plenty of sayings about luck. Even if you aren’t you’re bound to have heard of a few. Such as the saying: bad luck comes in threes. That certainly seems to be the case for Taiwanese artist Li Yaping (李亚萍)’s family.
Tragedy struck the family when treatment for their second daughter Yu Yuan-chi (余苑绮)’s cancer treatment was halted. Shortly after, Yaping’s husband and singer, Yu Tian (余天) suffered a stroke. In the midst of all this, the 72-year-old artist suffered a bad fall.
According to Yaping, she had been at home when she had an accident. She’d apparently fallen and hit her head on her marble floor. The fall had also caused injuries to her hands and feet. During an interview with the press, she showed the bruises on her arms.
Yaping had been planning to get herself treated. However, things took a turn for the worse when Yu Tian called for help after suffering a stroke. Yaping and their son, Ken Yu (余祥铨) took the 75-year-old actor to the hospital for treatment. Both Ken and Yu Tian himself, later admitted the stroke might have been caused by worry for Yuan-chi.
Yuan-chi was diagnosed with cancer eight years ago and has been fighting it ever since. Although she has been receiving chemotherapy treatment, the cancer cells have spread, rendering the treatment useless. Yaping was in tears as she shared that Yuan-chi is at a critical stage. The doctors have reportedly told her nothing can be done.
Thankfully, Yu Tian is recovering well in the hospital and has reassured his followers via his socials. However, there has not been news on Yuan-chi yet. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family. We hope they will receive good news soon.
