“They Threw His Socks And Underwear In The Toilet”: Korean Star Cha In Pyo’s Son Bullied In School Because His Parents Are Celebs

Life is not always easy when you have famous parents.

Many of us would recognise Korean star Cha In Pyo, 55, from  his hit dramas Star in My Heart (1997) and Fireworks (2000).

The actor, who is often credited as the “First Prince Charming of the Korean wave”, married actress Shin Ae Ra in 1995. They welcomed their son Jung Min in 1998.

They would go on to adopt two girls, Ye Jin and Ye Eun, in 2005 and 2008 respectively.

Ae Ra, who was one of the top actresses of the ’90s, has since taken a step back from the spotlight, only making the occasional appearance in dramas over the past 20 years.

Recently she was a guest on a talk show, where she revealed that her son was bullied in school for an absurd reason.

Confiding in the host, who is a parent-child relationship specialist, Ae Ra said: “It happened when my son was young, but he was bullied because his parents are celebrities. His schoolmates would shove him in the chest at the top of a staircase, or try to extort money from him. They even threw his socks and underwear into the toilet.”

She said finding out why he was bullied made her so upset, she “felt like her blood was flowing backwards”.

Many viewers have expressed shock at what Ae Ra’s son had to go through.

They sympathised with Ae Ra, and felt bad that Jung Min was subjected to such “unjust treatment” simply because his parents are public figures.
