Adam Lambert Covers Duran Duran’s ‘Ordinary World,’ Announces ‘High Drama’ Covers Album Release Date
The first taste of Adam Lambert‘s High Drama covers album is here.
The 40-year-old “If I Had You” hitmaker announced plans to roll out an album of reimagined classics earlier this month.
The first – an update on Duran Duran‘s “Ordinary World” – arrived on Tuesday (December 13) alongside confirmation of the LP’s release date.
Adam‘s version of “Ordinary World” transforms the 1993 alt-ballad with a lush instrumentation into something sparser.
“Came in from a rainy Thursday / on the avenue / Thought I heard you talking softly / I turned on the lights, the TV / and the radio / Still I can’t escape the ghost of you,” he sings over somber keys.
It’s a restrained but lovely interpretation from the superstar vocalist.
High Drama arrives on February 24. Preorder and save it here.
