Ke Huy Quan Admits Worries Over Future in Hollywood Even After Winning An Oscar
Ke Huy Quan just won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2023 Oscars – but that doesn’t mean he’s set in Hollywood.
The 51-year-old Everything, Everywhere, All At Once actor opened up in a new interview, revealing that despite winning the honor, he’s still worried about his future in Hollywood.
Following his win, Ke Huy spoke to Variety about his career, where he shared his worries.
“Everything is still so fresh in my mind, and that’s why moving forward I’m still really scared,” he told the trade paper. “Even though I just won an Oscar, I’m still really fearful of what tomorrow brings.”
Ke Huy added that he also had a “conversation with my agent, and I said ‘I’m so worried that this is only a one-time thing.’ I’ve been down this road before and I’m so afraid that history is going to repeat itself.”
“I said ‘please, whatever you do, please make sure that does not happen.’”
Ke Huy‘s worries are warranted, as just days before his win, he revealed that he actually lost his health insurance after wrapping filming on the movie which earned him the Oscar.
Everything, Everywhere, All At Once pretty much swept award season, and it won seven out of the 11 nominations it was up for at the Oscars.
