‘Chicago Med’ Loses Another Original Star in Season 8 Finale

Chicago Med is down one more doctor following the season 8 finale of the popular NBC series.

The exit comes after Brian Tee‘s exit earlier in the year.

It was Dr. Will Halstead, played by Nick Gehlfuss.

According to Deadline, Will big goodbye to Gaffney Medical Center after reconnecting with his former fiancee, Natalie (Torrey DeVitto). Natalie returns to the area with her son as Will makes his final exit.

Nick‘s exit also makes the One Chicago series officially without Halsteads. His on-screen brother, Jesse Lee Soffer, who was on Chicago Fire, left the show last year.

“This is wild; it’s an emotional transition. I got a phone call in November 2014 to be a part of a medical drama from Dick Wolf, and it was the second attempt. If they had told me at the time that I’d end up doing 202 episodes of it, I would not have believed them,” Nick told the outlet of his exit.

He added that his decision came as it was time to decide whether to renew his contract or not.

“It was a difficult decision but I felt I had taken Dr. Halstead as far as I could take him,” Nick says.

Fans are also awaiting an announcement about Taylor Kinney‘s future on Chicago Fire.
