In April this year, Hong Kong actor Ray Lui – who will turn 67 in December – stunned netizens with his age-defying looks from a photo taken at a party organised by Donnie Yen.

One netizen asked then: “Why do Hong Kong stars not grow old?”

Perhaps out to prove that these stars really do age differently from the rest of us, 8days reported of a netizen sharing a video on Facebook that showed three celebrities talking to older people.

Only thing is, the stars are actually older than the people they are interacting with.

In one of the clips taken in 2021, Lui – who is starring in the upcoming movie Death Notice – is meeting a resident at a nursing home.

As the man looks older than Lui, the ageless actor addresses him as “uncle” only to find out later that he is actually the older guy between them.

The “uncle” was 62 years old in 2021 when Lui was 64, as reported by the Singapore portal.

Another Oops! moment in the video surrounds Hong Kong actress 68-year-old Angie Chiu, who co-starred with Lui in the popular 1980 TVB historical drama The Bund.

According to the report, Chiu had visited an old folks’ home and met an elderly lady.

The two went on a walk together, during which Chiu helped the lady along while chit-chatting.

You guessed it, the lady is younger than Chiu by three years.

Similarly, 56-year-old Jordan Chan gave a woman the title grandma when they are about the same age.

Perhaps, he called her that way as she’s the grandmother of a child Chan had befriended on a show.

While having a meal together, Chan discovered that he and the “grandma” were both born in the same year – 1967.

After his initial shock that they are the same age, Chan asked her the month of her birth date. She was born in September when Chan was born in July.

As the article mentioned, Chan told his young friend: “I was born in the same year as your grandma, and I’m even older than her!”
