Here’s Why ‘Suits’ Season 9 Isn’t on Netflix & Where You Can Stream It for Free
It was just announced that Suits just broke an impressive record, nearly four years after the final episode aired on USA Network.
The show, which featured Meghan Markle as part of the ensemble cast, aired for nine seasons on USA Network and is now streaming in multiple places, but not every season is available on every streamer.
Nielsen just announced that Suits has set a record as streaming’s most viewed acquired title in a single week ever. The series was viewed with more than 3 billion viewing minutes for the week of June 26 through July 2, 2023.
Suits has remained in the Top 10 of Netflix’s most-watched TV shows for four weeks and counting, despite the fact that the streamer is missing the final season.
So, why is season nine missing from Netflix?
This is likely due to a rights issue, as season nine is currently available for free streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video. Season nine is the only season available on Prime Video as part of your membership and seasons one through eight must be purchased to watch on there.
Peacock, which is the home of USA Network shows, has the rights to all seasons. Netflix has the outside streaming rights to seasons 1-8 while Prime Video has the outside streaming rights to season 9.
If you want to watch all nine seasons in one place, you can stream them for free on Peacock as part of your subscription.
Let’s recap:
Peacock: Seasons 1-9 available
Netflix: Seasons 1-8 available
Prime Video: Seasons 1-8 available for purchase, Season 9 available with subscription
