KJ Apa Reveals He Didn’t Love Going Shirtless on ‘Riverdale’
KJ Apa is looking back at his time on Riverdale.
The actor, who starred as Archie Andrews throughout the series’ 7-season run, and in a new interview with Vulture, admitted he wasn’t the biggest fan of going shirtless on the show.
KJ said that in the earlier seasons, he was okay with shedding his shirt for the show, but that ultimately changed over time.
“I’ve been through a lot of sh** with that. It can mess with your head a little bit,” he says. “At first, as a young child, which is what I was, I thought it was cool — you almost want the opportunity to be shirtless.”
KJ continued, “I was like, ‘Yeah, let me take my shirt off. Boom!’ And then you gotta consistently stay in incredible shape. It takes a toll.”
He also opened up about why he didn’t share his concerns about it – because he didn’t know how to convey his concerns.
“Even saying that I didn’t feel comfortable I had a hard time with,” he shared. “I thought people would be like, ‘Why not? Just f***ing do it, bro.’”
Riverdale ended with 7 seasons just a few months ago.
