21 motorcycles, one car seized during traffic op in Ampang

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have seized 21 motorcycles and a car in a traffic law compliance operation in Ampang.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the operation was conducted from 7pm to 9.30pm Thursday (Sept 14) in the Pandan Mewah and Tasik Tambahan areas.

A total of 31 summonses were issued, mostly for driving or riding without a licence, he said in a statement.

Fifteen of these were issued to foreigners.

“In addition, 21 motorcycles and a car were seized and brought back to the Ampang Jaya Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department,” he said on Friday (Sept 15).

ACP Mohd Azam has urged the public not to allow unlicensed individuals, especially foreigners, to drive their vehicles.

He added that in such cases, action can also be taken against the vehicle owner under the Road Transport Act 1987.
