Malaysia’s spookiest Halloween event returns to Sunway Lagoon

PETALING JAYA: Sunway Lagoon has announced the ninth annual multi-award and iconic Nights of Fright (NOF9) event and promises to raise the bar internationally in becoming the most immersive Halloween experience yet in partnership with The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company from New York.

Coming to Kuala Lumpur with its brand-new horror theme, Fields of Fear – unearth the horror in Sunway Lagoon’s NOF9 event every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 7.30pm to 11.30pm from now till Oct 31.

Launched back in 2013, Nights of Fright: Festival of Fear had established itself as Malaysia’s one-stop destination for thrill-seekers and horrorphiles to gather every Halloween season to experience the scariest and spookiest event with the most haunted attractions in Asia within the walls of a single theme park.

Raising the bar every year with different themes and concepts, adventurers who thirst for a scream-filled night are in for a trick-or-treat during selected nights of the October Halloween season.

This year, Nights of Fright 9 have every intention to create the most immersive Halloween experience by transporting all who walked their haunted lands into a nightmarish world where irrational fears are intensified and the line between reality and nightmare is blurred.

With cutting-edge special effects, detailed set designs and professional scare actors roaming the park, Nights of Fright 9 is committed to create an alternate purgatory amongst the living with eight themed haunted houses, 11 thrilling rides, two scare zones, two show stages and their new and bigger Scarytales Theater.

Amongst these blood-curdling attractions, Sunway Lagoon’s NOF9 promises four newest addition and terrifying highlights drawing the best terrors from East and West:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre:Out.back.Attack!

It is at the back of the park – it is not for the faint of heart.

Animalium

After the Harvest, a toxic and unforgiving wasteland was left at the end of the world.

The humans that remained have been morphed into ‘humanimal’ form.

The last harvest was completely destroyed and these strange characters have made their new home with what remains.

The Legend of Sweeney Todd: Barbershop killer of Fleet Street

Dare to delve into the infamous barber shop, Sweeney Todd’s vengeful blade and Mrs Lovett’s mouth-watering meat pies await you.

Can you stomach the truth behind the devilish delicacies?

Wander through labyrinthine catacombs, whose tortured souls wander these cursed halls, forever seeking revenge.

Murder at Madame Zhu’s

Chinatown chaos at Madame Zhu’s Noodle House in Hong Kong – This is a very private and exclusive restaurant, with private dining rooms throughout.

There is a crazy chef on the loose, butchering customers in every scene – it’s a horrific scenario!

“That’s why we’ve delved into local and Asian heritages to unearth terrifying stories that will plant a seed of fear even in the hearts of our bravest visitors.”

Public favourites from past years such Hammer-Icons of Horror and The Asylum are also making a comeback in their line-up of spine-tingling horror nights.

The infamous haunted Lost City of Gold Scream Coaster, Apache Pots and other thrilling rides will also be available during the horrorfest.

With new, alluring shows and performances such as The Revenge of Little Red and Zombie Encounter

beguiling the night, the finale party, Freaky Nightmares with bewitching and intoxicating tunes will mark the end of the horror every night.
