Water cut coming for Petaling, Hulu Langat and KL folk

PETALING JAYA: Consumers in the Petaling, Hulu Langat and Kuala Lumpur regions are reminded to be ready for water supply disruptions due to upgrading works.

Air Selangor will begin asset upgrading, maintenance and replacement works at the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant at 9am next Tuesday.

“This will cause scheduled water supply disruptions in the Petaling, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat regions.

“These works are expected to be completed by 7pm on Tuesday.

“Water supply will be distributed to consumers in stages after the upgrading, maintenance and replacement works are completed and the main water supply distribution system has been stabilised.

“It is expected to fully recover at noon on Oct 12,” Air Selangor said in a statement.

The duration of the water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas would vary, it said.

This is depending on the location of the consumers’ premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.

Air Selangor also advised consumers to store adequate water and use it sparingly and prudently during the water supply disruption period.

It said it would be mobilising water tankers to the affected areas by giving priority to critical facilities such as hospitals and dialysis centres, and funerals.
