Vincent Wong, Mandy Wong Announce Departure From TVB Just Days Apart

Vincent, 40, surprised many when he revealed his departure at the prayer ceremony for new TVB drama Darkside Of The Moon in Shenzhen yesterday (Dec 5).
In an interview, Vincent shared that he did not renew his contract when it ended six months ago.
Despite this, fans can still expect to see him in TVB dramas as he will take on projects with the station on a per-series basis.
He is now a free agent and has to be his own manager, which he says is a challenge.
That said, he is very happy to return to work alongside ex-colleagues like Tavia Yeung and Rosina Lam in Darkside Of The Moon.
Vincent started his showbiz career as a singer before joining TVB in 2008.
He is best known for his role as a righteous blind lawyer in the Legal Mavericks series, for which he won Best Actor in 2017 and 2020.
He has been developing his career in China in recent years and started his own production house in April.
Actress Mandy Wong, also announced that she has left the broadcaster after 15 years.
Speculation over her departure had been swirling since June.
Then, Mandy said she was considering her options and was still in talks to renew her contract.
On Dec 1, the newly-wedded star took to Instagram to reveal her departure and shared snippets of her last day at TVB.
She also thanked TVB for nurturing and grooming her as an actress over the years, as well as the producers and crew she had worked with.
A graduate from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Mandy got her start in showbiz after placing in the top 5 at the 2007 Miss Hong Kong pageant.
She later enrolled in TVB’s artiste training class before becoming an actress with the broadcaster in 2008.
In her 15 years in TVB, Mandy starred in more than 30 dramas and was nominated for Best Actress seven times but has never won.
Her most memorable role was her turn as a barrister suffering from dissociative identity disorder in 2018 legal drama Threesome. Her performance won her the Favourite TVB Actress awards in both Malaysia and Singapore at the 2018 TVB Anniversary Gala.
Mandy was last seen in thriller Secret Door, which aired in May.
She also has another drama that has yet to be released.
