Commuters, ETS passengers can still travel on KTMB services, says Group CEO
PETALING JAYA: Komuter and Electric Train Services (ETS) passengers can still travel on KTMB services through a temporary intermediary bus between the Sungai Buloh and Serendah stations.
KTMB Group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Rani Hisham Samsudin said the temporary service is activated as all trains passing the Rawang station are affected pending restoration work.
“The Komuter service on the KL Sentral-Tanjung Malim route will stop at the Sungai Buloh station. Meanwhile, the Tanjung Malim-KL Sentral route stops at the Serendah Station,” he said.
“Intermediary buses have been provided between the Sungai Buloh station and Serendah station,” he added at a press conference at the Rawang train station on Wednesday (Dec 13).

For the ETS service on the Padang Besar-Gemas route, Mohd Rani said the trains would stop at the Tanjung Malim station.
“Passengers will be transported by intermediary buses from the Tanjung Malim station to the Sungai Buloh station to continue their journey to KL Sentral and Gemas by train,” he said.
Mohd Rani added that for the Gemas-KL Sentral-Butterworth and Gemas-KL Sentral-Padang Besar routes, passengers can take the ETS train from KL Sentral to the Sungai Buloh station.
“Then they will proceed by bus to the Tanjung Malim station to continue their journey to their respective northern destinations by taking the unaffected ETS train route,” he said.
Mohd Rani then said that those who wish to get a refund may do so online and at the counter.
Services have been disrupted due to a crane that fell on the tracks near the Rawang station at 5.55pm on Tuesday (Dec 12).
On this, Mohd Rani said that the crane was being used to build a multi-storey car park project next to the Rawang train station, says group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Rani Hisham Samsudin.
He said the crane that disrupted Komuter, Electric Train Services (ETS) and cargo transport operations fell at KM355.749 of the train tracks between the Rawang and Kuang stations.
“The crane actually sank at the site and was leaning towards the train track, which caused the upper part of the crane to break and fall,” said Mohd Rani.
“The fallen structure severed the overhead line on the two-way track. There were four broken parts of the crane that fell onto the track,” he added
