You never know what you will be getting should a star invite an audience member to sing with them during a concert.
Fans at Jay Chou’s recent concert in Bangkok were treated to quite the magical experience when the 44-year-old singer invited someone from the crowd to sing his hit song ‘A Step Back’ together with him.
Videos of the duet soon made their rounds online, with netizens praising Jay’s duet partner for his clear singing voice and handsome looks, with one even going so far as to say that he, um, “sings much better than Jay.”
The online chatter prompted some to come out and identify the man as Bie Thassapak Hsu, a 32-year-old Thai actor-singer who was first popular in the mid-2010s.
Bie, who has a Taiwanese mother and Thai father, grew up in Taiwan before moving to Thailand when he was 14. He later became an actor and starred in a slew of popular drama serials that include Lovey Dovey and Club Friday 5: Secret of a Heart That Doesn’t Exit.

But sorry ladies, the good-looking crooner is already taken. He is married to 35-year-old Thai actress-model Sumonthip Leuanguthai, with whom he shares two daughters, Paulina, seven, and Lalina, three.
After catching wind of the online attention, Bie came out thanking Jay’s fans for asking him to choose a Thai person to sing with him. He also expressed his gratitude to the Mandopop King for the experience and for the “past 20 years of music that keeps [his] dream [as an artiste] alive.”
Will this mark Bie’s music career comeback? You heard it here first.
