Yayasan PETRONAS spreads festive joy among the needy in Labuan

KOTA KINABALU: Yayasan PETRONAS is spreading festive joy to some 100 poor and sick people in Labuan under its “Uplifting Lives” programme in conjunction with Christmas.

PETRONAS Sabah and Labuan head Siti Ayu Abdul Wahab said they gave out basic necessities to the people.

“Yayasan PETRONAS is committed to doing its part to make the season a little brighter for these individuals and families.

“Our Uplifting Lives programme is designed to provide not just essential food items, but to also bring about a sense of community and support during the festive season,” she said.

During the event held recently, Siti Ayu handed over gifts to some 30 patients at the Labuan Hospital before paying a house to house visit to hand over the items to the homes of selected recipients around the island.

With this Christmas initiative, Yayasan PETRONAS have reached out to 11,850 needy families this year.

The Uplifting Lives programme is carried out throughout the year across the country in conjunction with major celebrations such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Gawai and Kaamatan festivals, was a commitment towards making a positive impact on the lives of those in need during festivals, she said.
