Gigi Leung, 47, Sings With Street Musician, Wins Praise For Her Voice
It’s been 28 years since Hong Kong singer Gigi Leung entered showbiz, and a recent video of the now 47-year-old star showed that she can still belt out her songs perfectly on the spot.
Filmed in November this year, Gigi was a guest on Taiwanese variety show Starlight Cloud. Hosts Kid and Qun Qun brought Gigi to the popular Xinyi district in Taipei to take in the Christmas atmosphere.
The area is also a well-known place for buskers, and the hosts, after noticing Gigi watching a musician perform, asked if she could sing there and then.
She was gamely for it and they approached a busker to ask if they could do a duet together.

The busker, known as Huang Jiongming, of course agreed and he accompanied the superstar on guitar as she sang her hit songs, ‘Coward’, ‘Short Hair’, and ‘I Like Him’.
A crowd, attracted by Gigi’s pristine voice, quickly formed.
Netizens took to the comments section to praise Gigi for maintaining her voice all these years, with one commenting that “her live singing just hits the heart of the listener.”
We think the best part of it all was when Jiongming posted the clip of the once-in-a-lifetime encounter on his Instagram with the caption, “In the future, I can write on my resume that I helped Gigi Leung play the guitar”.
To his surprise, he received a response from Gigi who wrote, “I can also write on my resume: Huang Jiongming accompanied me on guitar…”
