Japanese model Maria Shinbo, better known as Malia, is only 40, but she’s already a grandma.
Malia has a daughter and three sons. Her eldest kid is 21 and youngest, just five.
She’s best known for her beautiy and figure, and was invited to appear on numerous Japanese variety shows during her heyday.
She recently took to social media to share a picture of herself cradling a newborn, coupled with the caption: “My first grandchild is here.”
Netizens were surprised by the announcement, and many, prior to reading her caption, had thought she had given birth to another child.
While some were curious as to which of Malia’s older kids had become a parent, she chose to keep that information private.
She received plenty of congratulatory messages from her followers, with many saying that they “can’t believe she’s a grandmother”.
Malia has been divorced four times. She was married to footballer Hayuma Tanaka, mixed martial artist and kickboxer Norifumi “KID” Yamamoto, footballer Yuhei Sato, and ex-footballer and model Maito Santos.
Her eldest son is also a professional football player, and has played with his dad Hayuma Tanaka in the same game.
