The hit TVB drama The Queen of News might have aired its final episode in December, but it seems fans still can’t get enough of the 48-year-old Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh.
Late last month, a huge crowd gathered at a shopping mall in Shanghai to catch a glimpse of the three-time TVB Best Actress winner for a Chinese New Year event.
Turning up in a red body-hugging Michael Costello dress, the Story of Yanxi Palace actress was accompanied by four brawny-looking security guards.
While forming a human chain to ensure a clear pathway for the actress to walk, one bodyguard might have taken his job a little too seriously when Charmaine walked towards a group of fans.
In a video posted to Xiao Hong Shu, one minder is seen rushing towards the camera blocking the usually affable Charmaine from signing a few autographs.
The incident happened so abruptly that even Charmaine appeared to be taken aback.
We suspect some words were exchanged subsequently as the security guard later came out to apologise to the fans for starting a scene.
But it seems netizens weren’t too happy with what they saw and thought that his apology seemed insincere.
“Is the guard alright? His actions scared Charmaine there,” wrote one user.
Another netizen also highlighted that no one was acting unruly then and such a response was uncalled for.
If you ask us, we think they were probably acting on the instructions of the mall organisers?
