WORKS are ongoing to repair a burst pipe at a slip road in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd.

In a statement on Monday (Sept 23), the concessionaire denied claims of a sinkhole there and said repairs were expected to be completed within 24 hours, depending on the weather.

“Further updates will be provided from time to time.

“The public can get updates via our official channels such as Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram, X or by calling us at 15300,” it said.

Earlier, a video circulated online showing subsidence near Jalan Sultan Ismail heading towards Jalan Raja Chulan.

The 10-second clip showed water runoff filling up what appeared to be a pothole on the road.

The spot was closed off with a traffic cone and yellow tape, and Fire and Rescue Department personnel were also seen on site.

A Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) spokesperson also said a burst pipe caused the incident and it was not a sinkhole.
