Persistence is a virtue… and incredibly rewarding for some.
Does winning the lottery boil down to luck only? Apparently, perseverence is key as well, according to one man’s recent windfall.
After placing the same numbers in the lottery for 13 years, a Malaysian man finally won the lottery and took home a staggering $17.8mil ringgit (S$5.3mil). He won the money in the ‘1+3D Jackpot’ by Da Ma Cai (aka Pan Malaysian Pools).
According to Da Ma Cai, the 38-year-old man had been placing bets on 6333 and 0221 since he turned 25. The numbers are based on his car license plate and birth date.
In a statement to the media, the man, who owns a printing company, shared that he plans to use his winnings to invest in better technology and equipment for his business which has been struggling.
He also said he had intentions to donate some of his windfall to a dilapidated temple in his hometown and have it rebuilt.
According to the man, he believes in special numbers, and that it isn’t just about luck, but the power of perseverance that led him to his big win.
Now, that’s some well-deserved respect right there.
