Mikey Madison Says She Texted Demi Moore After Oscars Win, Reveals If She Was Prepared to Accept Award

Mikey Madison opened up about her Best Actress win at the 2025 Oscars over the weekend.

The 25-year-old actress beat out the likes of Demi Moore, Cynthia Erivo and Karla Sofia Gascon to take home the award for her work in Anora.

In an interview after the fact, Mikey revealed two of the fellow nominees that she’d been in touch with. She also spoke about if she was prepared for the win and if it shocked her.

Mikey told The Hollywood Reporter that she had not come to grips with the win yet.

“I’m still kind of floating in a dreamlike state. It was a very, very surreal night — very interesting and obviously, celebratory and wonderful. But I think that I need time to really digest the magnitude of it,” she said.

The actress added that she “absolutely” was not ready to accept the award.

“Last-minute, I was like, ‘I should just write down a bunch of names just in case — even if only to just have a list of names for myself.’ And I’m glad that I did, because I got to read them! But I would have wanted to be a little more studious and prepared,” she said.

After her big win, Mikey said that she shared a hug with fellow nominee Fernanda Torres.

“I texted with Demi, who I adore. She’s one of the sweetest, kindest women I’ve ever met, and I’m so grateful that I was able to meet her and witness her brilliance and talent in person. I adore her and I can’t wait to see what she does next, what kind of characters she brings us. I think we’re all so ready and excited to see that,” Mikey gushed.
