Popular K-Drama Actress Reveals How She Ended Up Following Over 6000 Fan Accounts

Although social media has made it possible for fans to connect with their beloved public figures easily, it is not very often that ordinary people actually get to interact with them. But for the fans of one K-Drama actress, it is a cakewalk.

The actress in question is Kim So Hyun, who is currently appearing in the Netflix hit, Good Boy, with Park Bo Gum.

Kim recently sat down with ELLE Korea for a candid interview, where she revealed how she ended up following more than 6,000 people on social media.

One of the questions during the interview asked her about a memorable incident from her decade-long acting career. In response, Kim So Hyun talked about her unusual social media journey. “Especially in the early days of Instagram or Twitter, I used to give people advice,” she said, breaking into a chuckle.

Kim explained that she would listen to the concerns of people her age or older than her and advise them to “stay strong.” “It was something I could only do at such a young age,” she said while reflecting on the innocence of her younger years.

She also shared about the kind of questions she usually responded to. Kim clarified that she never gave out relationship advice because she herself was clueless about it. Instead, she helped people with career advice, especially those who wanted to pursue acting. “I listened to their concerns sincerely,” she recalled.

Thanks to this benevolent social media presence, Kim ended up following back thousands of fan accounts and interacting with them personally. But now, the actress admitted that she has gotten more careful with it. “I follow back once in a while,” she stated.

Kim then joked that she checked the first message sent to her from an account to determine if they had been a longtime fan.

In reality, though, all it actually takes to get a follow back from her is being sincere.
